"STAINLESS STEEL HEADER PIPES WITH COLLECTOR BOX & LINK PIPE.
There are many of us on the RFOC who own at least one or more of the Suzuki RF bikes, whether they are the RF600 or RF900 in both early and later versions. émoticône smile
They’re obviously getting both older and rarer and as such, some components are, in particular brand new headers.
For some strange reason other than cost? Suzuki in their infinite wisdom, decided to have the headers manufactured in part stainless steel and mild steel. émoticône frown
The main problem area as many of us are aware of is the collector box, and where the main header pipes enter into it. Some owners have already had theirs patched, others have simply sourced a reasonable second hand set.
Some have managed to obtain a stainless set manufactured by companies such as Micron, Motad and others!
I’ve been in touch with Delkevic a well known UK company manufacturing quality stainless systems and components, with regards to whether they still do a set of headers for the RF bikes.
And I intend to enquire with Motad, who also manufacture stainless systems.
Delkevic have mentioned that in order to restart production they would need significant interest and orders i.e. a minimum 100 units which will bring the cost down for all involved.
I know from a previous enquiry, that Motad would consider making some if we have a minimum of 10 to 20 orders... more than this will bring costs down significantly. émoticône smile
So the query is ... who would be definitely interested in a brand new set of stainless headers, for a reasonable cost, pos "
